Erica Parsons

Little Erica Parsons was born in February of 1998 to Carolyn Parsons and Billy Goodman. At age five, Erica was adopted by her aunt and uncle, Casey and Sandy Parsons.

She was last seen in November 2011.

Normally, the disappearance of a thirteen year old would be a the front of any parent’s mind. But not Casey and Sandy.

It wasn’t until July 30th, 2013 that Erica was reported missing. The report was not filed by her parents, but by her older brother, Janie Parsons.

On August 5th, 2013, Casey and Sandy gave their first public interview, claiming that they had left Erica with her biological grandmother. A few days latter on August 20st and 21nd, Sandy and Casey went on Dr. Phil show. Sandy failed lie detector test, Casey became “sick” before her test. They both claimed Erica went to got live with her biological grandmother, “Irene ‘Nan’ Goodman”. Dr. Phil said that during his research, Billy Goodman’s mother, Erica’s biological grandmother, is dead. Casey claimed that Erica packed a bag, but she didn't take any of her things (clothes, blankets, shoes, etc.). Sandy went on to say that her biological grandparents “spoiled her” so that she wouldn't want to leave. The couple also said they didn’t hear from Erica for a year and a half and they assumed that she was “ok”. Finally, Sandy and Casey told Dr. Phil that they would be alright with signing their parental rights away to Nan if she came forward with Erica.

In a later interview, Dr. Phil stated that he believed the Parsons lied to him. He also brought up the fact that in 2001, Casey Parsons became a surrogate mother. She told the Michigan couple that she was carrying for that she miscarried the baby. Allegedly, Casey had been taking money from multiple couples.

Upon returning to their home after the Dr. Phil show, the FBI and SBI issued warrants and searched their property. Less than a week later, on August 27th 2013, Casey and Sandy move, claiming they want to be out of the public eye.

There was radio silence about the case for nearly a year, but July 30, 2014, both Sandy and Casey were arrested for fraud. And both were sent to jail. Erica’s birthmother can be seen in footage rejoicing after the conclusion of the trial.

In September of 2016, Erica’s disappearance was finally solved. Her adoptive father, Sandy Parsons, led police to her remains. Medical examiners were unable to definitively find out how Erica died, but the police suspect child abuse and/or torture. In the August of 2019, Casey pleaded guilty to first-degree murder while Sandy pleaded guilty to second degree murder in December of that same year.

Historic Fort Snelling at Bdote

It has come to my attention that some possible paranormal activities have been going on at Historic Fort Snelling. Being the oldest standing United States government post in the area, I can't say that I'm surprised rumors have been spreading about this place.

And so here are the facts:
1.) The land around the Fort has been used for the past 10,000 years.
2.) There are few records of the day-to-day business of soldiers that lived at the Fort.
3.) Two of the buildings (Officers Quarters and the Stone Barracks) have had some strange activity.

And finally
4.) At least two murders occurred at Fort Snelling.

I have been to Fort Snelling many times and there is one area that I find to be particular interesting. The company kitchens are located on the backside of the Stone Barracks. These kitchens were used by the enlisted soldiers living at the Fort and have since been rebuilt. However, from what I understand, some people do not like to go down inside of them. Some say it's because of the dark, while others say there is a negative energy inhabiting the space. Personally, I get a wicked case of the goosebumps when I go down there. It's like someone is watching you, someone who does not want you down there.

Later, I came to find out that one of the murdered bodies were found in company kitchens. Who's body? When did this happen? How were they murdered? Is there spirit still down there? Let's find out.... Stay Tuned....

UPDATE
In my research I have recently dug up the name of the soldier murdered in the Stone Barracks. His name; Private John Smith. His murderer; Private Thomas Baker. Baker apparently stabbed Smith and was later jailed at Fort Armstrong.

But this begs the question; what exactly was Baker's motive? A fit of rage? Did Smith owe him money? Let's try and find out.... Stay Tuned...

The Blitz Witch

As many of you probably know, the death penalty is illegal in the United Kingdom. The last person executed there was a woman by the name of Helen Duncan. She was died December 5th, 1956. Her crime: witchcraft.

Witches have been a part of folklore for thousands of years. Witch hysteria (I would argue) started in England with the death of King Henry VIII’s second wife, Anne Boleyn. It was further set into hyperdrive under the ruling of King James I. Accusations of witchcraft became rare after the Age of Enlightenment in Britain. In the twentieth century, accusations were pretty much unheard of.

That is until Helen Duncan’s predictions became a little too accurate.

It was the 1940s and World War II was in full swing. Duncan was a self proclaimed medium and held séances. One night she spoke with a woman who hadn’t heard from her son. Duncan allegedly contacted the young man during one of her séances and told the mother that his ship had sunk. The British government heard word of this revolution and they immediately became suspicious.

As it turns out, the ship had in fact sunk, but the government had been keeping it a secret for the time being. After a few raids in the late 40s, Duncan was arrested in 1951 and charged with witchcraft. (Apparently because they didn’t have enough to charge her with espionage.) She was tried, found guilty, and executed.

About ten years ago, the British government pardoned Duncan. I say too little too late. Helen Duncan was no real medium and definitely no witch. Just look at the photos of her alleged séances. They’re pretty creepy, but totally fake. She probably just guessed that the young man’s ship had sunk. Death of soldiers was common during WWII. The death of Duncan just added to the list of great tragedies of the war.

A Trip South

The mysterious Acambaro Figurines have plagued our history for the past few decades. Initially, I was highly intrigued by these simple clay figures created by our Mesoamerican ancestors. I mean who wouldn't be? The idea of dinosaurs living alongside humans has been a part of our media since before my grandparents can probably remember.
And that I why I say with a heavy heart that I must inform you that the Acambaro Figurines are fake. Ancient Mesoamericans would not have had any idea about the existence of dinosaurs.

First we must take a look at the science. Now, I’m not scientist, but I did take Geology 101 in college. From that class it is easy to see just how impossible it would be for dinosaurs to live alongside humans. The last dinosaur died about a million years ago. Our first real records of humans living in North America was about 10,000 years ago. Besides the difference in time, there is also a difference in atmosphere. If a full grown dinosaur were alive today, it would die almost instantaneously due to the the atmospheric pressure.
Second, I will have to address who exactly benefits from the Acambaro Figurines being real. This would be Christianity. Now I have nothing against Christianity or Christians. Instead I am arguing against some radical Christians who are using alleged “historical” artifacts to further their doctrine. According to some Christians, the world is only about 6,000 years old. These same people point to the Acambaro Figurines as evidence that humans exhibited alongside dinosaurs. Personally, I think that if you want to believe that the whole universe is 6,000 years old, that’s up to you. I take issues with the fact that these same people are using historical artifacts to push their religious agenda.

Finally, I must look at the Ancient Alien Theory. Their logic is based on the idea that you have to first disprove aliens, so to be honest why bother? Sure. It was aliens.

Lake Winnebago

For today's entry, you will have to journey with me to southern Wisconsin. If you're from Wisconsin, you've probably heard of the Winnebago (or more correctly, the Ho-Chunk Nation). The Ho-Chunk and their ancestors had called the Midwest their home for the past few thousand years. What else could have called this area home?

Deep in the depths of Lake Winnebago lives a monster of untold horror. According to the legend, a giant serpent lives within the lake and ever so often takes a victim hostage. In modern times, some say the might be an over sized sturgeon, but who knows? Other conclude that the serpent is a relation of the Loch Ness Monster; some sort of ancient dinosaur that has been able to survive in the chilly Wisconsin winters.

Who am I to say if the monster is real or not. What I do I know are Wisconsin lakes. They're so deep any murky. Under that water, you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. Some of the lakes still even have unknown depths. Perhaps the monster isn't there. Perhaps all these people who have claimed to see the monster are wrong. All I know is, I will not be going in Lake Winnebago anytime soon.

American Fable: A Film Review

American Fable is 2016 thriller written and directed by Anne Hamilton. It's the story of a young girl from the Midwest who finds a man in a silo on her family's farm. The premise is sort and to the point, which is my ideal sort of movie. There's nothing overly complicated about the plot or any of the characters. I found myself getting sucked into its creepy factor right away. As a person who grew up in rural Wisconsin, I found myself having a deep connection to the main character, Gitty. Hamilton wrote Gitty as a rough and tumble sort of kid. She is genuine character, something greatly lacking in modern horror and thriller films.

My suggestion: go see American Fable. It was on Netflix, and from what I can tell, now it's on Prime. It's a good creepy film and deserves more attention than what it has previously received.

Lori Vallow's Children Found

[Original Post 6-10-20]
It was announced today the remains found on the property of Chad Daybell in eastern Idaho are that of Vallow's two children. Daybell was earlier taken into custody over the suspicious disappearance of these two children and the suspicious death of his pervious wife.

Vallow and Daybell are both alleged members of an alleged cult operating on under an amalgamation of Mormon Doctrine and are said to have believe that the end of the world was eminent.  The two have remained silent for the past few months on the subject of the whereabouts of Vallow's children.

The two children, JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan, had been missing since September 2019. Their bodies were unearthed after a search of Daybell's property earlier today. A positive identification of the children was made by their grandmother. It is unknown how long the children have been deceased.

[Update 6-11-20]
JJ Vallow's Grandfather, Larry Woodcock, visits the site of his grandson's burial. In an interview with Fox 13 Utah, Woodcock states he would like to be the "peacemaker" between the families in this time of grief.

[Update 6-23-20]
It appears that the children were murdered within days of their last sightings. The police has released an affidavit that outlines the case against Chad Daybell. It appears that there may be others involved in the killings.

More to come.

Killer Suzie Q

Many accounts of the Lynch-Newsom murders portray Susie Newsom Sharp Lynch as a victim of mental illness. They say she was a beauty queen, afraid of losing her children. They called her the golden girl. Her family called her Susie Q.

I call her killer.

In 1984, Delores and Janie Lynch, Susie Q's former mother and sister-in-law were found dead in their home. Both were shot at close range and bled to death on the floor. The police were left baffled as to who could have committed such a crime.

Later, in May of 1985, darling Susie's mother, father, and grandmother were shot in their home. None of them survived.

Investigators' attention turned to Susie after bloody murders. They learned that her parents were going to testify on her ex-husband's behalf in a child custody hearing. This meant that Susie would have probably lost custody of her two young sons. Police also learned that Susie had fallen in love with Fritz Klenmer, her first cousin. The two had been infatuated with each other since Susie's divorce from Tom Lynch in 1981. They had recently moved in together and had become heavily involved in collecting guns.

But that's not the craziest part of the story.

On June 3rd, 1985, police arrived at the Newsom-Klenmer residence. Susie and Fritz quickly loaded her two sons into the back of and SUV and began to shoot at police. After a sort car chase, Susie's SUV erupted into flames, killing Susie and Fritz. An autopsy report lasted showed that the two sons in the back of the car were not killed in the explosion. Instead, their mother had poisoned them and then slit their throats.

Susie Newsom-Lynch was not a mentally ill mother. She knew what she was doing. She wanted to hurt her husband as much as possible, so first she murdered his mother and sister. When her parents got in the way, she killed them. And finally, when it looked like she was going to be sent to prison, she decided to hurt her husband in the most horrific way possible; by destroying his children. Susie Q was not a victim of circumstance. She was not a victim of mental illness. She was a cold, calculated killer.
